A Young Dutch “Van Gogh”…

Posted by on April 30, 2012

The apple does not fall far from the tree for this aspiring

“Van Gogh”

as I have nick-named the precious, handsome grandson of my youngest sis in The Netherlands, who excells in the arts of painting and sculpture.

See my post of March 13, 2012 “Art of the Heart”.

On a sunny day at the end of July in 2010 the young man dropped by at his Grandmother’s house to try his hand at a portrait painting of a stray cat who had taken a fancy to his Grandmother. In the meantime the handsome feline has taken up permanent residence at my sister’s place to the joy of all who meet the furry little rascal. It must be told that this feline is an adventurous and very sweet little fellow, who is devoted to his lovely mistress and has proven to be a good model for the young aspiring artist who worked dilligently at his painting that day, and succeeded well.

First the young lad made sure his model was in the right mood by making him feel at ease by gently playing with him and feeding him a decadent meal. Next he made him comfortable by providing a nice colourful pillow and shooting a lot of pictures so he could paint well without being disturbed. Meanwhile he kept an eye on his model to check if the coloring and poses were close to perfection.

I bet,

Van Gogh

would have enjoyed the view so much that he would have taken the young lad under his wing.

As one can see from the photos on this post, the young aspiring “Van Gogh” is well on the way of becoming an artist if that would be his choice. However, having many more interests and choices as well as studies to undertake it’s not sure if he ever will decide to do so. It’s nice to know that he likes the arts as much as animals, nature, island exploring, soccer, computers and other social and business interests. The young fellow seems well on his way in becoming a wellrounded and educated lad with a long list of interesting avenues to explore.

“It’s good to be young, considered, merry and energetic”

must have purred the painter’s model who after his cat-nap, groomed himself and went for a stroll in his mistress’s garden to seek another adventure.

A HUGE thank you to the smiling

 “Painter’s Group of Two”

and the handsome furry model for all the painting fun!

Enjoy your Texel Island trips Maik.

The video below shows the beauty of Texel Island’s nature and the sculpture garden.

It’s truly a feast for the eye, I can imagine you are always looking forward to go to the island.
