Easter and Christmas…
The birth and resurrection of Jesus
are the two most happy family and church
gatherings for many, who believe there
is happiness on earth, as well as in heaven
and peace to the world is not a myth.
In my search for a Cathedral that stands out
above others during the season of Lent,
I decided on Boston’s (USA)
Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
The Cathedral of the Holy Cross designed
by Patrick Keely, the Irish-American
ecclesiastical architect, started in 1866
and was completed on december 8, 1875.
The Cathedral retains its magnificent
E. and G.G.Hook and Hastings pipe organ
opus 801, installed in 1875.
In 2003, Andover Organ Co. created and
installed its opus R-394.
At least 3 notable events occurred in the
Cathedral during 1964 and 2013.
On Jan. 19, 1964 Cardinal Richard Cushing
celebrated a Requiem for
President John F. Kennedy
of the United States of America.
On October 1, 1979 the Polish Pope
John Paul II
of the Vatican in Rome, Italy
held a 39 minute prayer service for
2,000 priests on his 1st USA pilgrimage.
On April 18, 2013 an interfaith prayer vigil
was held for the victims of the
Boston Marathon bombings.
The eulogy was done by
President Barack Obama
of the United States of America.

No doubt more notable events will follow.
For me one of he highlights are the
bulletins for the celebration of Lent
which may be downloaded.
I chose one showing a beautiful photo
and message to reflect upon.

Then from the cloud came a voice that said,
“This is my chosen Son; listen to him.”
