Christmas Ghosts of the Past…

December Holidays Around the World…

by

Gypsy Joy.

Unlike Scrooge

who had a bad experience with the “Ghost of Christmas Past”

many others throughout the world may be enjoying the happy times with their

“Christmas Ghosts of the Past”

and revel in the stories merrily told on Christmas Eve when they gather with family, friends, a friendly acquaintance or even strangers around a hopefully warm and inviting place.

Imagine

candles flickering here and there. Mistletoe hanging somewhere conveniently to steal a kiss for anyone who is in the kissing mood. Comfortable pillows around for the little and big ones to cuddle up close to a loved one or to stroke a pet.

In the background

carols are being played. Children sing in harmony with the adults, someone is cheerfully humming the tune. Soft laughs and giggles reach the ears of anyone inclined to hear and share in the good sheer of Christmas and the birth of Jesus.

As the world turns

and the moon shines its silvery light on earth, many an adult or child looks up at the sky to find the star of Bethlehem and a glimpse of loved ones no longer with them. On Christmas Eve many stars flicker brightly bringing joy and hope in the hearts of those left behind. When they turn around to wherever they may be, the space seems filled with the happy stories and laughter recalling past Christmasses when all where happily gathered together.

As long as we fill our hearts, especially at Christmas but hopefully throughout our living years, with memories of love and joy of our beloved “Ghosts of the Past” not only will our lovely departed Rest in Peace but our joyful memories will drive loneliness away and keep us in good spirits till we meet up with them again.

May the joys and peace of

Christmas

forever linger in everyone’s heart.
