Enjoy some of my “December” 2012 winter poems
I posted this winter on my GypsyJoyStoryville facebook page.

Mouse Nikolaus…

I am the Christmas Church Mouse
Said Mouse Nicolaus
As he bowed
Lowering his voice
Till it was a tiny whisper
Then he wiped his brow and wisker.

Ho Ho Ho…piped the Church Organ
Even before Mouse Nicolaus began
You may be the Church Mouse
But you don’t arouse
The right Christmas cheer
You touched a wrong note here.

Nicolaus
The Christmas Church Mouse
Shook his head
And cheerfully said
How come ya’ forecast doom
When I have not yet played a Christmas tune.

On Christmas Eve…

In the dark of the night
I saw Santa taking a sneak peek
Into my room scarcely lit by lamplight.

I chuckled in my hide-out
It was such a funny sight
To see his jolly mouth
Appear above the planter`s height.

I wonder will Santa leave tonight
A little something in my stocking
When the moon shines bright.

On New Year’s Eve…

When the clock strikes twelve
The Old Year is no longer itself
A New Year is ringing in
No one knows what it will bring
But we have 365 new days
To rejuvenate our old ways
Bursting with joy and New Year plans
We twirl, frolick and dance.

Ring-Around-the-Christmas-Tree…

Come and see
The children around the Christmas Tree
It is a beautiful sight
To see them dance by candle light
They are never so merry and gay
As on a Christmas Day.

Santa from the North Pole…

Kettle Bells are ringing
Carollers are singing
Santas are rushing down the street
Where will this merry chaos lead?

My little girl demands to know
where is Santa from the North Pole
Her voice thrills with tension
Luckily she answers her own question.

“I guess it’s not yet Santa’s time”
She says, while the church bells chime.
“You’re right sweetie” I say with relieve
And hug her for her sweet Santa believe.

In stillness I pray
That my little girl may
Keep believing year after year
In the magic of true Christmas cheer.

The Jingle Dogs…

We like to jingle jingle jingle
We are single single single
We like to dance dance dance
And prance prance prance!

‘Tis Snow-Shoveling-Time…

Somewhere in Dreamland
All nice things come true
Sometimes in Realityland
Happy things happen to me and you
More about that in another lamplight rhyme
Presently ’tis snow-shoveling- time!
