Nepal,
South Asia, is a country of many cultures, religion, the arts and tragedies. A country where a beautiful festival of light, Tihar, is being held yearly around mid November.
Christians in Nepal celebrate the birth of Jesus at the same time as Christmas is celebrated around the world.
Shawna Edwards,
inspired and touched by the poverty and traditions in Nepal wrote in 2010 a new Christmas song:
“Do You have Room?”
Each year many around the world are touched by the story of the Holy Family travelling to Jerusalem, knocking on doors and asking the innkeepers: “Do you have a room?” When reading or listening to the Christmas story of the birth of the Holy Child many are moved to tears as Joseph was unable to find a suitable room on that important night when Mary gave birth in a stable to the Holy Child Jesus.
The new Christmas song ties in nicely with all the other religious carols and should be destined for success.
