Ode to Poppies and Freedom…
By
Gypsy Joy.
A poppy sways in the breeze
With elegance and ease
They emit the feeling of energy
Light and the joy of being free.
Touch a petal and their fragility
Comes clear to you and me
Like tears in war and terror
They almost immediately reveal their mourn.
Right before your eyes petals may fall
A painful reminder to us all
How sorrowful and fatal life can be
When a country is not free.

The Kingdom of The Netherlands honours all fallen during the war years each year on May 4th
and thanks on their May remembrance day
the Veterans for having brought freedom to The Netherlands and other countries in the past and present.
Ode to All Veterans…
by
Gypsy Joy.
In Flanders Field they gave their all
When they answered to their heart’s freedom call
Life thereafter was for the veteran rough
WWII made their hearts once again sad and tough.
No one living in freedom today
Should ever forget the toll and dismay
It takes to ease
The world’s burden so others may live in peace.
A heartfelt thank you to all who try and tried to bring lasting peace to all
and the Allied Troups who liberated The Netherlands.
