Winter Poems

Enjoy some of my “February” 2013 winter poems
I posted this winter on my GypsyJoyStoryville facebook page..
Carnival…
Frolicking in a fancy costume
Feasting three days and night
Giggling behind mask and plume
Before Lent makes us see the light.
Cooling Down…
Crushed ice in a tub
In a little pool
Cool refuge
For a hot raccoon.
Early Winter Morning…
Winter`s surprise
Colour splendor
At sunrise.
Eire…
Land of Saints and Fairies
Land of Irish Dance and Dreams
Land of Castles, Lakes, Ruins
Land of Hope and Emerald Greens.
Exquisite…
Venice mask
Carnival splendour
Joyful labour
Exquisite craftmanship.
Happy Chinese New Year…
May the sun daily shine on you
Luna the moon wink at you, too
May you be blessed with good health and cheer
And Lady Fortuna keep you in favour all year!
Happy Valentine…
Heaven’s Wealth…
Shared
Nights in Joy
Friendship and Good Cheer
Reflect
Heaven sent Wealth.
Its Cold Baby…
Snow…snow…snow…
Makes litlle girls glow
While Mom in the kitchen bakes
Her little one is catching snowflakes.
Rain Clouds…
Blue sky
Playful rain clouds
Slowly descending
On the scenery below.
Rainbow…
The colours of the rainbow
Paint an exquisite show
Of all the colours of the sky and earth below.
Roaming Free…
Monkeys are delightful chatters
And the family clan greatly matters
They love being with them and romp and play
But their curiosity makes them sometimes stray.
In the wild they come in all sizes
And in captivity in all prices
Happily most of them roam free
That’s what a monkey’s life should be.
South Dakota Land…
Mother Earth, clouds, wind and golden sunshine sculpture
South Dakota’s vast land steeped in culture
It’s there where among sparkling stars at night
La Luna cheerfully spreads her silver light.
Waiting…
Festive table
Romantic candlelight
Waiting for company.
Winter Snow and Slush…
As cars and pedestrians skid through town
Winter joy goes up and down
Just cleared the snow and slush
Four hours snow-work without rest
What did I gain? A natural blush.
