A Tale in rhyme from the 2013 “Merry Holiday Poems and Tales”

We all know about Dr. Seuss’s Cat in The Hat
and Dr. Doolittle’s talking animals, too,
grinned my friend when I visited her flat.
While putting on her fancy new hat
she proudly proclaimed, but my cat can do much more!
My feline opens with ease any door,
settles the neighbourhood cat fights.
She chats in any language, reads and writes
and put a Dutch New Year’s greeting up this year.
