Winter Poems

In Canada it’s still winter.
Spring is approaching slowly.
In some parts of the world flowers bloom.
My friend wrote me that the yellow crocuses
are blooming in her garden.
Since it snows in my corner of the world,
it made me yearn to visit the florist;
on the worldwide web that is!
I don’t feel for slushing through the snow.
It gave me a warm glow to read about
Easter arrangements
as Easter will come early in 2016.

When it’s snowy outside its pretty nice
to be where it’s warm and write a poem.
That’s exactly what I did!
Inside it’s Warm and Cozy…
It may be cold outside
But inside it’s warm and cozy
Darkness falls early
Stars are nowhere to be seen
The sky has coloured gray
Lantern light lits the way.
Lights are dimmed inside
Everyone in the house
Is as quiet as a mouse
Nibbling on popcorn watching TV
Feeling pretty content you see
‘Cause inside it’s warm and cozy.
The winter wind blows
Outside the snow still glows
When everyone kisses goodnight
And says sleep tight
May your dreams be right
It’s warm and cozy inside.
