In the USA and Europe, especially in France, most people
may have heard about the history of the wealthy
New Yorker and Author
Evander Berry Wall
the fashionable and rich USA gentleman born in 1860 and
proclaimed “King of Dudes” in New Jersey in 1883.
Before I visited Wiki’s
“vinegar Valentine cards”
and clicked on “Dudes”
I had never heard about the King of Dudes.

I think cupid would have agreed that a portrait of
“the King of Dudes”
would have made a very fine Valentine card for the
rich and famous in the 19th century.
You have to admire a gentleman who manages to outdo
the society ladies in 1888 by exchanging his wardrobe
40 times in one day to win a bet.
