I guess we all know who is the sweetest
in the Northern Land.
We don’t need a faery-mirror to see
It’s the Maple Tree!
~Gypsy Joy~

The Maple Tree must be the reason why
Canada is a peace keeping society.
Its syrup keeps young and old sweet.  :)

Canada has a Maple and Beaver emblem
and loves the Canadian Loon(ie) and
Toonie to quote a few favorites of the
Canadian wildlife currency.
However,
nothing surpasses the Canadian craving
for the Maple Tree and Maple Syrup.

With the exception perhaps in autumn

when the Maple tree’s colour stuns everyone.

In spring young & old flock to the bush
and watch the Maple Syrup taffy made
in the snow while visiting a sugar shack.

Maple Syrup in cooking is a great substitute
for sugar and other sweeteners.
Cooks enjoy searching for new pie recipes.

Canadian weddings take place beneath
young and old Maple trees.

However, all is not as sweet as we think.
At times smuggling occurs as well.
By 2017 new rules will be in effect.

I like to end on a sweet taffy  note.
With thanks to the makers enjoy:
