Lest We Forget
by

Among My Evergreens a Poppy Grows
Remembering the Fallen long ago…
World War II
And you Dad, we will never forget, too
And that bleak November day in 1944
When we heard a knock on the door
While we were separated
Staying in a town that was liberated
With Mom we needed you most
As the years went by we often felt lost…
We wear a Poppy to remember
In the month of November
The fallen soldiers from now and long ago
And You our Poppy Hero.
