Garden Jewels

I hope Mother Earth
had a pleasant Earth Day 2016!
April may come in as a lamb,
but throughout the month she may be
unruly and leave with a lion’s roar.
Keeping the garden growing beautifully
is not as easy as one may think.
Nature likes to trail, gardeners are
inclined to design and re-arrange.
Although I love forests, the bushes
and flowering fields, I, too,
like to garden my way
with the help of Mother Nature.
Happily we usually seem to agree.
It does take time and effort to keep the
growth and withering of flowers, leaves,
tree branches and weeds in control.
However, the end result brings happiness.
The fresh air and exercise, benefits
the body, heart and mind.
The cuckoo comes in April
and stays the month of May.
Sings a song at mid-summer
and then flies away.
~Proverb~
Throughout the seasons we are blessed
with many song birds
visiting the gardens, singing their
songs from early morning till evening.
It’s a joy to listen to them.
In each season I learn more, including
at times during a freezing, snowy,
icy storm in early April.
The following Italian-Canadian link,
http://www.enature.com/birding/audio.asp
invites us to listen to the songs and calls
of 550 North American birds.
At the same time enjoy the video about
young Canadians studying at
a Canadian High School in Florence, Italy.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
With thanks to the makers, enjoy:
