Hi Friends!

It’s a slow day at my LOOK-OUT post
I almost fell asleep when I spotted
a squirrel passing by the patio doors.

Right away I jumped into action and
flew to the glass doors and started
a dance-and-bark ritual.

It helped…

the trespasser moved away quickly

but… gee whiz, the mistress’s
cheeks and eyes changed colour.

You got it!

She did not appreciate my scaring tactic.
So I kept quiet for a while till she
was her nice self again and hugged me.

Clever, eh!

The young mistress always says of the
mistress: “she forgives quickly but
don’t you forget this Little Lion
she has the memory of an elephant.”

Whatever that means!

Anyhooooo!!!
:) That’s the neat word the young mistress
uses when she goes over to a new subject.

HH Dutch Windmill Suzy

The young mistress is a doll, is not she
and very funny, too.

Try to say “anyhooooo”…
It sounds like a howling coyote.
It makes me roll over and over!

Wait a moment!!!

What’s that noise???
Hmmm… just a wind gust that knocked
the yard waste bin over.

The mistress is calling, we are going
to have a look at Totem Poles on the web.

Be with you soon!

WOW, that was fun!

She showed me this
beautiful Totem Pole photo of one of
her longstanding friends in Canada.

 Did you know Canadians celebrate
National Aboriginal History Month in June?
It’s celebrated on June 21st.

Yep, that’s the day when it’s Father’s Day!

Something to ponder about…

Could this be because the
Indigenous People are the
First Nations who occupied the earth?
Thus, they are our Forefathers!

Here are a few nice links to pass on.

 And a beautiful native quote…

Although we are in different boats
you in your boat and we in our canoe
we share the same river of life.
~Chief Oren Lyons, Onandaga Nation~

Woof…Woof… I like that chief!

I looked at quite a few Totem Poles…
I can’t believe it!
No carvings of a canine, feline or horse!
The closest to our race is Mr. Wolf!

There are carvings about animals,
birds, fish, plants, insects and humans.
Even a supernatural being called

“Thunderbird”

and other animals that can transform
themselves into another form.

Some aboriginal stories are of a serious matter
such as the many colourful artistic videos on:

http://firstnationspedagogy.ca/storytelling.html

All of them are teaching stories

ON_halton_cons_sj

and
stories told from generation to generation
by word of mouth. Is not it fantastic!?!

I like the Totem Poles and the Storytellers
who make the children laugh the best.

Although I may be a little warrior,
at heart I’m a Peacekeeper.
Arrow and gun fights are not for me!
I prefer a Dream Catcher to chase bad stuff away!

In case you wish to make your own totem pole:

Hmmm… another rumble in the garden!
Have to fly to my LOOK-OUT!

:) But before I go another quote…

Those who lose dreaming are lost.

With thanks to all who provided
today’s pictures my appreciation!

Tune in again next Saturday…
:) Life is never dull here!

With thanks to the makers enjoy,
