An Easter Tale from the 2013

Once upon an Easter Eve
When all seemed serene
And the moon began to shine
The Easter Bunny spotted a swine
Followed by the break of a branch
She decided not to take a chance
Hopping quickly and softly away
She hid behind a big pile of hay.
It did not take long
Before the swine came along
A few bunnies nearby felt weak
In their knees when they took a peek
At the grumbling swine
And hoped not to be seen in the moonshine
None of the bunnies liked a fight
Luckily all seemed to go all right.
When all of a sudden who would appear
A cackling witch and it became clear
She was riding the swine
“Goody, the chocolate eggs will be mine!”
She shouted and up to the Easter Bunny she flew
And collided in mid-air as out of the blue
A wizard flew grabbing the easter basket
Putting it safely in a tall fir tree’s nest.
The swine and the witch were terribly mad
The moon and the bunnies close by felt sad
Would the chocolate eggs keep stable
In the nest and would the Easter Bunny be able
To get the basket back safe and sound
So she could finish her Easter round
The Easter Bunny stayed very calm
She just looked at her palm.
It took a bit of time
Before the witch and the angry wild swine
Decided they were not going to waste
More time on a chocolate taste
A few more minutes passed
Then the moon sighed: “At Last”
As she saw a dazzling faery strike down
To give the Easter Bunny a lift into town.
Happy Easter to All!
