Canadian National Volunteer Week…

Wishing everyone of Canada’s

12.7 million

Volunteers a very Happy and Blessed Volunteers Week!

This year Canada and the USA  celebrate this happy occasion from

April 12-18, 2015.

For Canada it means that 1 person in every 3

“young to old with a heart of gold”

give freely of their time to a cause that matters to them the most.

The first celebration of National Volunteer Week happened in 1943 during WWII.

That was the year Canada celebrated the contribution made by women on the home front .

National Volunteer Week declined in popularity in Canada until 1960.

Luckily its popularity has since that time increased.
