Who is not fond of a canine? Or for that matter a feline or any other sweet pet or creatures of the wild who make us laugh and chase our sorrows away. Pets are loyal in good and bad times, they keep us company, adore us and often stir our imagination as in the  “Cookies” poem here below.

Cookies…

Cookies are my main obsession
I love cookies scarf them up
‘Been that way since I was tiny
I love cookies yup yup yup.

Mom keeps cookies on the counter
Sometimes keeps them in a jar
I can see them I can smell them
But I can’t reach up that far.

I can taste them in my daydreams
Every time I take a nap
I crunch cookies by the dozens
And I savour each last scrap.

When I get to Doggy Heaven
All my dreams I’ll satisfy
Cookies, cookies, cookies
Piled on kitchen counters doggy high.

I love reading and writing about stories I hear, listen to or read about just as much as I enjoy writing about my own imaginative or true stories and poems. Although I have yet to become rich and famous I have enjoyed writing from the time I learned to read and write and still love it.

I can’t remember anymore where or when I read the “Cookies” poem and it has been quite a while that I surfed “The Wilson’s Laughing Cavaliers”. However, tonight I checked the “Laughing Cavaliers” website link to make sure the website still existed. I am happy to report that the Index is as appealing and interesting for young and old as I remember.
