Easter Fare
By
Gypsy Joy.
When I see a white rabbit hopping
Through the fields or the woods
Each time it lifts my mood
And I think about a religious depiction.
At Easter time one cannot but think grievingly
About Jesus forced to leave
The world at the age of thirty three.
Therefore its soothing to see
The infant Jesus reaching out
While Mary strokes a bunny.
Before tucking the youngsters in
at night
A parent sits lovingly at their bedside.
How tender and sweet a child’s reaction would be
If at Easter Eve they could see
The painting of Mary stroking a bunny.
