Moonlight Meeting…

Winter Poems from the 2012 “Merry Christmas Poems and Tales”

By

Gypsy Joy.

There once was a deer

In a forest nearby

Who felt pretty lonely

And longed for a bit of cheer.

By moonlight he tiptoed

Softly

Nibling andĀ stepping slowly

Till he reached a castle’s moat.

Standing still in wonder

Admiring the moonlit castle

He played the bells on his tassle

Which made the castle Lord ponder.

Did he hear a deer’s bell

Softly ringing

Or was it the tingling

Of an icy snowflake that fell?

The castle lord rubbed his eye

And yelled lonely me

Is it true do I see

A handsome buck passing by?

Lower the bridge dear Knight

I have a deer to greet

Come with me and meet

Our visitor by moonlight.

It did not take very long

Before they were joined by a sweet doe

Feeling now no longer alone

The four celebrated singing a merry moon song.
