Beware of the Mischievous Forest Mummers…

December Holidays Around the World…

When on Christmas Eve

an elf leaves his quaint house in the woods to help Father Christmas on his rounds through the forest to deliver goodies and toys to the good girls and boys, the elf must make sure, that the Christmas lights hanging from the eave shine bright in the darkness of the night.

 I am telling you why:

Christmas lights shining bright on the eave of an elf’s house and twinkling in the dark forest on Christmas Eve is a bad omen for the mischievous forest mummers. They like to come in great numbers when it’s pitch dark and all is as still as a mouse in the deep of the woods, when every jolly elf is joyfully helping Father Christmas delivering his festive goods.

If you happen to be on a walk through the woods in any part of the world on Christmas Eve and you hear mummering:

“don’t swing the Elf’s Granny,

she is very old I am told”

hurry to get out of the way and hide behind a shrub or tree till the mischievous forest mummers are out of sight.

What will happen if no Christmas light is lit on the elf’s roof?

If the mischievous forest mummers

find an elf’s house in the dark they are overjoyed. The culprits immediately enter the elf’s house and dance like “happy banana’s” on the planks of the kitchen floor till the planks split. Then the mischievous forest mummers will lean against the stove and furiously swing the lamp above and not quit till the kitchen is a shamble, while mummering very loud,

“don’t swing the Elf’s Granny,

she is very old I am told”.

Not to worry…

The Forest Santa

will find the mischievous forest mummers and make sure they restore the damage.
