In last night’s dream

As I was putting a Rose of Sharon on my floral hat

I told my sweet tabby cat

About the Monarch butterfly I had seen.

He turned his handsome head to me

Then stretched his paw

And while he scratched his jaw

I saw a jumping flea.

Dashing quickly away

I ran and fled

Totally out of breath

I stopped when I heard a horse’s neigh.

When I looked back at the cat

 The tabby and her company

Were playing happily

With the Rose of Sharon from my hat.
