Christmas Count Down
By
Gypsy Joy.
‘Tis 15 days before Christmas…
Santa’s Elves are seen everywhere
Christmas jingles are in the air
Poinsettia’s appear here and there.
In children’s eyes linger big smiles
Mitted hands and cold noses
Leave their prints on the toy shop windows.
There is a beautiful Mexican legend about how a weed gift for Baby Jesus, given by a sweet little Mexican girl on Christmas day, was transferred into the beautiful red Christmas plant we call poinsettia.
The most beautiful story about this folktale, I watched, is written and illustrated by
Mr Tomie dePaola.
I searched for more info. The folktale is available from Amazon.
