Shih Poo Tales

Hullo Friends,
I hope your Halloween loot bag was filled
to the brim with Halloween sweets.
I had a marvellous birthday and a
terrific Halloween Evening.
I dressed up in two disguises.
A pumpkin and a spooky feline.
He-He-He!
The spooky feline was the best disguise
It scared the trespassing felines.
Rumor is, they thought I was bewitched
by Halloween’s scariest witch!
Scary and Fairy kids came calling.
I also gave Halloween doggie treats
to canine friend Brandy. She liked the treats.
Brandy is the smaller pooch.
But she is not as small as you would
think her to be and she is very strong!
Today it’s quiet around here.
The fall temperature goes up and down.
I am looking forward to see the snowflakes
falling from the sky so we can build
a gigantic snowman.
I must like snowy days so much, because
I was born on a snowy & stormy Halloween day.
The “2011 Halloween nor’easter”
made history as
“Snowtober” and “Storm Alfred!”
You can read about it on:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Halloween_nor%27easter
In Canada the clocks will fall back
1 hour on Sunday Nov. 6th, 2016, at 2 a.m.
Except in the province of Saskatchewan.
It gets darker by the minute now and
the trespassing felines get bolder!
“Time out” for me pals, see you soon.

Hi Friends!
I think Little Lion may like this quote…
“They that are born on Halloween
shall see more
than other folks may ever seen.”
~Author Unknown~
A Halloween secret…
Little Lion says he saw the image below
in the hallway mirror on Halloween Eve!
Can you imagine my shock as no one
else in the house saw this spirit.
Now when I pass through the hallway
I get the shivers!
Luckily the Christmas Season is upon us.
It’s whispered that the Halloween Spirits
must disappear before the story of
“The Ghost of Christmas Past”
is read by folks gathering around the
Christmas Tree.
“Every tree has a unique face.”
It may be hidden more or less but
to the keen eye it exists.
Can you find the tiny face of the dog
with the button nose and the floppy ears
in this millennium old tree in Greece?
Don’t peek now!
Answer is at the bottom of this page. ***
Bye-Bye!
My time to disappear.
Have a great time this weekend!
Hi Pals, I’m back!
The Lad and I went for a walk.
It’s a bit chilly but the sun is shining.
We did not meet a soul but I had a fun time
just running and dancing around.
I think I gave the lad a good work-out!
Earlier we roamed “Wiki” to find out
which countries celebrate Halloween.
Did you know Scottish immigrants brought
their halloween tradition to Canada
before 1870?
Hallowe’en “Trick or Treating”
of door-to-door in disguise was reported
in Kingston, Ontario as early as 1911.
Until 2006 children would also collect
charitable donations for UNICEF.
Since 2014 the hamlet of Arviat in Nunavut
cancelled the door-to-door fun due to
roaming polar bears.
I did not know they have a sweet tooth!
Did you?
Since then a Halloween party is held
in Nunavut’s community hall.
In British Columbia it is a tradition
to celebrate Halloween with fireworks.
That’s all for today, I’m going to have
fun with a ball game run! :)
Have a great weekend and
tune in again next Saturday!

I hope you visit them, too.
With thanks to the makers enjoy the
sparkling crackers lighting up the sky!
