Even before the birth of Jesus
sugar cane grew on the shores of the Bay of Bengal were it was harvested.
Thus the Creator must have had sugar on His mind for human beings and like all what nature provides us, it must have some benefits for us mere mortals. Like water, honey, fruits, juices, vegetables, milk and other dairy foods, fish, meat, red wine and not to forget herbs, medicinal plants and edible flowers.
On the other hand perhaps the Lord thought
it would make us sweeter in understanding one another.
Something to think about…
Actually,
the sugar topic came to my mind in connection with The Archies song “Sugar, Sugar” from the 1969 music video, which I enjoyed very much. Having only occasionally read a comic story of the Archies and never heard the enjoyable song or watched the show, I must admit that I did not know that the Archie comics had started in 1941 and that after 70 plus years Archie finally had marriage on his mind.
