For a number of decades many of us may have been enjoying the first day of the spring season on March 21st. If it were not for the astronomers and the yearly calendars many of us might give no thought to the fact that the first day of spring differs throughout the years. After all “what’s in a day”?
This year on March 20th, 2o12
we welcome the first day of spring.
Spring has been heralded by many poets and writers.
The arrival of songbirds brings all of us in a jolly mood. Easter is on its way, grass is green once again. It’s a welcoming season of Maypoles, easter egg hunting, weddings, colourful blossoms, cherry trees, fancy hats in an easter parade, feeding ducks and strolling through parks.
The world is full of life.
A time of renewal and joy, that’s what spring is all about!
Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) wrote:
A little Madness in the Spring Is wholesome even for a King.
