Christmas Tales
By
*Gypsy Joy*
Magic happened on the night my Christmas lights went out…
Just when the chime rung on my Grandmother’s clock
I heard footsteps and a gentle knock
How can I help you I asked
Thank you the gentleman said I know my task.
I wondered the gentleman was a stranger to me
I shook my head as I looked at my Christmas tree
The gentleman stroking his beard gently
Whispered you need help I can see.
As my Christmas lights had gone out
I uttered a pity shout
You see what I mean grinned the gentleman stranger
Its the christmas light anxiety danger.
When Santa arrives with the toys
For the girls and boys
Even Santa may not know what to do
And his jolly Ho Ho Ho may diminish too.
I knew this gentleman clad
In white, black and red
Was absolutely right
There is no magic without the shine of Christmas light.
Dear lady the stranger said don’t look so tragic
With just a little bit of magic
There will be soon fantastic tree light
And your Christmas lights will twinkle bright.
Before you retire please leave a bit of hay
And a glass of milk and cookies on a tray
The task is done I have to go
Soon I will be back Ho Ho Ho.
Then I knew it was jolly old Nick
Who had done the magic tree light trick
In the hall I spotted the dog’s tail wiggle
And heard carollers and santa’s elves giggle.
The magic of Christmas Joy was back in the room!
With thanks to the video maker and the famous singer enjoy
Fred Astaire!
