A Poem a Day

The Newfoundland Twin…
Taffety and Tabbety
Are as cute as cute can be
They are the faery twin
Who in a Newfoundland inn
For weeks got stranded
When their balloon landed
In front of the inn much to the chagrin
Of the owners of the inn.
Because Taffety and Tabbety
Were as fussy as fussy can be
During their stay in the inn
No dish was tasty enough for the twin
One day the innkeeper’s wife said enough is enough
We are going to be really tough
They are going to eat whatever I cook in my pot
Whether its to their liking or not.
She straightened her apron and hat
Sprinkled a bit of this and a bit of that
In her big black stewing pot
And stirred till all was boiling hot
Then she simmered and simmered the brew
Till it looked like thick pea stew
Everyone was sure the twin would throw a fit
But ho and below Taffety and Tabbety liked it.
