Art
By
Gypsy Joy.
I am smithen with arts and crafts, nature, gardening and with the
Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman
and his giant refreshingly different contemporary art.
Recently I posted on facebook a “Giant Ducky” birthday poem
to celebrate my artist sister’s birthday.
It was inspired by the artist’s traveling duck.
Happy Birthday to you!
Quack… Quack… Quack
Quacked the friendly Rubber Duck
I travel the global waters to bring a smile
And send you a birthday greeting across the mile
No idea if I ever will reach Canada
Or return to The Netherlands Olala
But I have healing properties and should mention
It has been said I relieve tension
Therefore this happy birthday wish for you
Brings not only love and joy but wishes for a relaxed new year, too.
I am certain she enjoyed Florentijn Hofman’s art as much as I do when she surfed to

While listening to the Classics send out by channel 96.3 this morning
and simultaneously checking emails it was exciting
to read about the new scientific discovery of flowering plants.
Guess what…
flowers existed long before the dinosaurs who did not survive the ice age.

Mother Nature take a bow!
I find this discovery thrilling garden news.
It made me want to celebrate, especially on this lovely autumn day.
So I tried to find something unusually appealing and artistic.
What did I come up with?
A plasticine contemporary art statue
sculpted on a bronze statue of D.Francisco de Almeida
first viceroy of Portuguese-India by…
You guessed it!
The Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman who created the plasticine
man in collaboration with the creative campers in Abrantes Portugal.
Enjoy!

There are whispers going around that each autumn the Canadian deer
in the Rideau Lakes area are wondering when the People of Beautiful Ontario
will invite Florentijn Hofman to
create something awesome in the heart of old Ontario along the scenic Rideau Canal.
