Day 20
The Wee Berry Lad…
One mild spring day
I was working in the gardenshed
When suddenly I met
A wee berry lad who told
He was a member of the Petit Berry Folk
And asked if he could stay as he had lost his way.
I offered him to be our guest
And a stay in the strawberry patch
I promised our German Shepherd would watch
So no harm could come to him
Reaching for a fruit tin
I saw a strawberry peeking beneath his vest.
I never came to know why
The wee Berry lad carried a strawberry
Who he introduced to me as Lady Kerry Berry
When I asked he shook his head
My lips are sealed he said
If I spill the beans Lady Kerry Berry will forever cry.
