Christmas

Without a Santa Parade
Chrismastide would not start off
with the same joy,
despite of all the inviting window
decorations of the shops
and the lighting of the christmas tree.
The Toronto Santa parade stands out since the time of Eaton’s.
The 1st Eaton parade took place on December 2,1905.
During the 1950’s the Toronto parade was the largest in North America.
August 1982 was a black month for all fans of the parade.
Eaton’s announced they would no longer sponsor the Santa Claus parade.
Happily local businesses saved the parade.

Wonderful things in life are, without thinking, sometimes taken for granted.
When I posted “A Partridge Song” on Sunday Nov.29,2015
I realized, that although I have given on the blog, credit to (free) images,
foto’s received from friends and loved ones, wiki and other links
and dedicated stories and poems, videos stand out the most.
All of it is not only enjoyed by me, but by others as well.
A free video is entertainment and a privilege for most of us, including myself.
The makers put a lot of thought and time in it.
Therefore, a thank you should come their way each time I post a video.
With thanks to the maker, You Tube, organizers, artists and paraders, enjoy:
