While searching for artsy Valentine cards
to be made by & for young & old Valentine sweethearts,
I learned from the UK author/artist

Shoo Rayner

about a Viking “January” Festival

where Northern Mardi Gras is
organized by about
1000 dedicated Viking guizers and
celebrated
yearly on the last Tuesday of January.

The fire procession known as

“Up Helly Aa”

is viewed each year by 4-5,000 spectators.

Which country?

Peaceful, quiet Shetland till the Helly Aa guizers
of Lerwick start their fire procession.

No females are involved,  according to the “Vikings”.

Why?

‘Cause there were NO female Vikings?!?
