Walking throughout the Seasons…

Posted by on March 30, 2012

At times your inbox harbors something unexpected and worthy of your time.

Today it was such a day. I received mail from a friend containing a link to an

entertaining and educational video about walking.

Not only is your dog “man’s best friend”,

but as you walk your pet roughly 150 min. a week Fido adds healthy years to your life. Although his sniffing every tree on your walking path may amuse or displease you, your pet is a lifesaver and adds healthy years to your life.

Much better than 6 hrs a day watching TV

which,  as medical research points out,  may take 5 years away from your longevity. If you don’t have a pet to walk with perhaps you can walk with a friend or alone. In any case your best bet is a minimum of 20 (plus) minutes walking a day to keep the doctor away. OR at least the doc is assumed not to have to subscribe you as many pills for this or that, which is a bonus. Having to take different medication each day cannot be as enjoyable as a daily walk with a friend.

Enjoy Torontonian Doc Mike Evans on the subject of walking for health,

 illustrated in a comical way.
