Holiday Tales from the 2012 “Merry Christmas Poems and Tales”
By
Gypsy Joy.
There once was a lady and a gentleman who both were called ladybug.
So the lady ladybug ever so clever changed her name to
ladyhug.
The gentleman ladybug
had grown very fond of lady ladyhug but being a shy gentleman ladybug he waited and waited some more before he finally dared asking on the last day of the year:
“May I ask my dear lady ladyhug what are you doing on the Eve of New Year?”
“I think I will take a chance and go out for a dance,” grinned lady ladyhug.
“If you will be going alone may I be your chaperone?” asked gentleman ladybug.
“On this year’s last day I am inclined to say you may,” smiled lady ladyhug.
“Delighted to be your date, lady ladyhug,
but please don’t let me wait. It’s cold at the end of the year, I will be shivering waiting for you here,” pleaded gentleman ladybug.
Lady ladyhug nodded and smiled and both went their way.
Safely back in her little but cozy mushroom cottage in the woods warming herself by the fireplace, she giggled and whispered:
“Oh my Oh my!”
“Everything is going well. I have been wishing for a New Year’s Eve invitation from gentleman ladybug since I watched the fireflies flying around my wishing well on the first of July. I wonder if the Magician who lives at the end of the woods has something to do with this. If so, I am happy he used his magic on gentleman ladybug.”
“I hope the love potion will never wear off!”
