My Favorite Kitchengarden “Keukenhof” in Lisse The Netherlands has opened its spring castle garden once again to let everyone enjoy the sublime beauty of 7 million bulbs planted last fall. It’s a spring blooming sensation! Many of the visitor’s also like to view the surrounding fields by boat. The boat is called
“Fluisterboot” meaning “Whisper Boat”.
This boat gave me the inspiratie to create the following poem:
Whisper softly my Friend
The splendor of the bulb region
In Lisse, The Netherlands
Tells us winter is at its end.

While the wind sings its lullaby
And winter has gone to sleep
The river lures the boaters
To view the amazing scenery.

Tenderly the river whispers
It’s song to the blooming fields
Above it the birds soar silently
As not to disturb the tranquility.

The Whisper Boat’s passengers
Smile at the beauty they see
When the boat finally yields
Their smiles linger over the fields.
