Yummy Tummy Wonderland…

Posted by on April 27, 2012

A “Faery Duchy Dairy” tale from the 2012 “Canadian Magic Forest Tales”

By Gypsy Joy.

In Yummy Tummy Wonderland live the Yummy Tummy little folks

in the midst of a large wonderful grassy green field surrounded by a forest and a pristine lake where the amazing Yummy Tummy Canadian Dairy Cows freely roam. If you would happen to meet the Yummy Tummy Wonderland friendly little folks they would immediately invite you to sit around their campfire. When evening falls they gather by the lake where they by a cozy campfire exchange their adventures of the day. They live in the most wonderful tiny log cabins in a village called Cheese Lover’s Heaven.  It’s indeed living in heaven there. Imagine a village where only sweet dairy cows and friendly little folks roam. Day after day they take care of their precious dairy cattle and dairy business. Not to forget their wonderful forest, the cattle field, their fancy little houses, beautiful gardens and their pristine lake while the pleasant dairy cows are grazing or lazily lying down in the grass listening to the thrilling adventures told by the Yummy Tummy Wonderland folks. To protect their village from nosy visitors you cannot find their place on any map. If you happen to find their village by serendipity, you must tread softly and peek very carefully around. Whisper instead of talking loud so you would not disturb the little Yummy Tummy Wonderland folks. If you would disturb them you may end up becoming another statue till a faery comes along to change you back to your happy self.

One of the yummy tummy folks most beloved tales is the story how

they once met an absolutely amazing, beautiful dairy cow duchy.

This happened on a truly dreary day when the rain clouds were hanging low above their field, so low that one could touch the clouds and watch closely to see the raindrops getting ready to soak the grassy field and its inhabitants. On that day a few dapper yummy tummy folks soon jumped on the lowest rain clouds hovering above the dairy cows inviting all the other Yummy Tummy Wonderland folks to join them. They all did and soon jumped on their dairy cows like a cowboy rides on his horse. They will tell you that it was a wonderful sight. Some of them used a lasso to bring a higher rain cloud closer by, so they could jump on it. Pretty soon all the Yummy Tummy Wonderland folks from the village of Cheese Lover’s Heaven were all jumping up and down, swaying back and fro with the rain clouds. Naturally they got a bit wet, which gave them even more to giggle about as they hummed:

“rain, rain go away come back another day

but leave the rain clouds for us to sway and play”.

For a while they all had a rolling good cloud time and so did the sweet dairy cows as they danced and jumped up and over the rain clouds. The sweet Yummy Tummy Wonderland dairy cows seemed to jump even higher over the clouds as did their cousin from the famous Mother Goose nursery rhymes many moons ago when she  in an overly happy mood, jumped over a low hanging moon. A few tiny jumping folks lost their balance and fell in a pair of hiking boots who had been standing for such a long time waiting for their master to pick them up that lush plants had started to grow in them.

When the clouds finally drove higher and higher, the sky became beautiful blue again. The sun shone bright over the field for a while, but soon the sky would become  darker again. The yummy tummy folks jumped on their cows and rode to the middle of their field to rest for a while before night would fall. The pretty dairy cows and their offspring continued their grazing. All seemed peaceful until the yummy tummy folks heard their dairy herd utter the loudest “MOO” they had ever heard before. At once they all ran to the sweet dairy herd to see what the commotion was all about and stopped and stared with their little mouths wide open at a petit dairy cow in the midst of their herd. They did not know what to think and started whispering to each other. Finally the tiny dairy cow began to feel very nervous and in a high pitched snubby cow tone demanded to know what was all the mooing, staring and whispering about. Finally the Chief of the Yummy Tummy Wonderland folks asked the irritated petit dairy cow where she was from and how she had arrived in the middle of their Wonderland. Why was her cow coat snow white, her features blue, a grand blue aura shining brightly like a blue moon around her and why did she wear a splendid blue maple leaf shining just as brightly as the mid-day sky. The tiny dairy cow almost rolled over with laughter when she was asked so many questions all at once. How the Yummy Tummy Wonderland dairy cow chief described her tickled the petit dairy cow pink. She looked at the changing clouds hopefully all would go well and she would be back in Dairyland before anyone would miss her.

Turning her eyes to the Yummy Tummy Wonderland chief, the petit dairy cow looked him straight in the eyes and said smilingly, my name is

“Exquisite”

I am the 100% Canadian Milk Duchy from Dairyland.  I was travelling on a cheese cloud to visit my famous Great-Aunt who jumped over the moon long ago when suddenly Mr. Wind sneezed long and hard, darkening the sky just above Wonderland which made the rainclouds tumble down so close to your pretty village that you all were able to dance and jump on and over them. I tumbled off my cheese cloud when Mr. Wind sneezed again and by his third sneeze Mr. Wind blew my cheese cloud out of sight. Mr. Wind’s sneezing brought you and the sweet clouds a lot of fun, did not he?” The Yummy Tummy Wonderland folks and their sweet dairy cows all nodded smilingly. Indeed, a lot of fun it had been! The beautiful petit dairy cow, continued and said: “the unfortunate thing is that I shall have to stay in Wonderland till the moon rises and will have to convince the Man in the Moon to help me find my cheese cloud which is roaming the sky somewhere and looking for me. For now I will have to postpone my mission and visit my Great-Aunt another day. Dairyland will begin a search for me as soon as they notice that I have gone missing and I really don’t want them to know that I strayed away from Dairyland, even though it was only for a short visit to meet with my Great-Aunt”. The Yummy Tummy Wonderland folks thought it best to lit their campfire as it was getting dark and to wait by the cozy fire till the Man in the Moon would make his appearance.

Naturally they invited Exquisite the 100% Canadian Milk Duchy to join them in their storytelling- sing-a-long of the night. The duchy told them all about her wonderful life in Dairy Land. Pretty soon the subject about scrunchy meals came up when the yummy tummy chef quickly fixed everyone a delicious cheese and a fruit smoothy snack, which made the petit dairy cow exclaim to the chef: “This is a super duper gooye snack!” Have you ever tried a frico or a cheddar stuffed meatball with rosemary for a delicious evening snack?” “No, I did not sweet duchy”, what is the recipe for them” the Wonderland chef asked curiously. “Good!”, replied Esquisite smilingly, you will find it here and she handed a piece of paper over to the chef while excusing herself and grabbing an umbrella from one of the yummy tummy folks nearby, saying: “I am only borrowing your umbrella till I reach the upcoming moon and then the umbrella will float back to you.” After having said this, Exguisite, the wonderful faery duchy from Dairyland floated upwards to the Man in the Moon like she was Mary Poppins, leaving the Yummy Tummy Wonderland folks speechless for a moment and shaking their heads mumbling:

 “what a wonderful sight!”

“Can you imagine that!”

mumbled the yummy tummy Wonderland chef to himself while reading what was written on the piece of paper. Being a chef he was not going to reveal the recipe to anyone. However, the Wonderland chef would soon be in for a surprise. As soon as the umbrella came down to the field, there was another note attached to it in which Exquisite asked the chef to show to all, on the next storytelling-sing-along evening, the website link were the recipes could be found. The frico recipe which has been invented by the Italians in the past and printed decades ago you will find on the 1974 Canadian Dairy calendar, she wrote. The Yummy Tummy Wonderland chef sighed deeply. He did not dare now not to share the dairy recipe link with the Yummy Tummy folks. You always have to be very careful with anyone who can fly an umbrella in the sky like Mary Poppins and is a friend of the Man in the Moon, even if you happen to be the Yummy Tummy Wonderland chef. You never know what to expect should you ignore a request from a faery, especially a faery duchy from Dairyland.

What if she would change you into a toad???

BRRRRR…

the yummy tummy wonderland chef shivered when he thought about it.

The petit faery duchy dairy cow arrived safely in Dairyland that night.  Happily, so far no one in Dairyland knows about her Yummy Tummy Wonderland adventure and the faery duchy likes to keep it that way.

Anyone is welcome to meet the petit faery duchy dairy cow on her famous website:
