Shorter days and longer nights
Are upon us in winter times
By the open hearth
We wonder about our precious earth
And the important Reason
Of the Winter Season.

 Winters can be hard
But nature plays her resilience part
For wildlife and man
As best as she can
And before long
Spring comes along.

Perhaps that’s why Jesus was born in December
To have mankind remember
Never to feel forlorn
When our hearts are torn
But to believe and trust
That God at all times knows best.
