Have yourself a Merry “Little Christmas”…

December Holidays Around the World…

by

Gypsy Joy.

It’s so nice to hear someone singing and shaking your hand and telling you:

“Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas”.

In Ireland and Scotland

“Little Christmas” is also called “Women’s Christmas” and/or “Women’s Little Christmas”.

In some parts of Ireland Irish men will take over the household duties on that day.  So sweet!  It just seems out  of this world.

And that’s not all!

Restaurants and bars serve mostly girls and women on that night and children surprise the mothers and grandma’s frequently with a gift.

Is not it awesome?

What I would like to know is when the

first “Women’s Little Christmas”

was held and who started the tradition. Though the all-girl power party in Ireland and Scotland is held

Jan. 6th on Epiphany Day

a.k.a. the Adoration of the Magi, it could not have been started by the Three Wise Kings from the East

Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar.

They were over 2000 years ago on Epiphany Day on their way to honour the Newborn King!
